Beautiful road trip East across the country climbing out of the Irrawaddy valley and into the green mountains of Shan State. Seeing the enormous volume of giant logs of old teak wood coming out of the hills, I wonder how long they will be so green. Neverthetheless, we passed a little narrow gauge train with its relaxed passengers heading home up to the villages and ascended some tortuous but beautiful roads winding up into the sheer escarpments on our way to Inle Lake.
